Tonight, we will focus our prayers on the future influence and personal example which will be set by our next president and vice-president. Let’s pray that the Holy Spirit will lead them to:

• Seek God’s wisdom in how they live and govern our nation.
  “…if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)
• Practice personal discipline in their public and private behavior.
  “…discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness…” (1 Timothy 4:7)
• Purpose to set an example of purity, honesty, and maturity.
  “Make yourself an example of good works with integrity and dignity in your teaching. Your message is to be sound beyond reproach, so that your opposition will be ashamed…” (Titus 2:7-8)

We cannot separate Christian values from national leadership, so this is an important issue for our united prayers. Our leaders face the same temptations that we all do, so they definitely need our intersession.
