Yesterday, Franklin Graham sounded a serious alarm. He called for urgent prayer warning of future evil. What does this mean? Paul explained,
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
Tonight, we will be asking the Lord for careful accurate ballot counting, plus the physical strength and concentration needed for the many volunteers as they serve and do their work. We will give thanks for the many who have worked tirelessly for weeks and months to carry out the election process. We will also give thanks for our many answered prayers, including the election integrity that is being protected by countless poll watchers and a large number of dedicated attorneys in each state.
Both presidential candidates are understandably physically exhausted, they will both need our prayers for their remarks at the proper time when the election results have been announced. May there be a spirit of understanding, grace, and personal wisdom when they each speak.
This will either be a time for great rejoicing or a time for deep serious reflection, so may the Lord prepare our hearts to trust Him whatever the results may be. The Apostle Paul set the example for us when writing, “I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance … I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:11-13) Let’s make that testimony our own!
