For encouragement during today’s dangerous pandemic, we can all be deeply grateful for what was learned from 1918’s Spanish Flu. That pandemic infected approximately 500 million people which was about 1/3 of the world’s total population!
Because between 20 and 50 million died world-wide in only 24 months, the extreme importance of social distancing became globally known. As we now unitedly pray for those who have been infected and seek to set a positive example, let’s encourage everyone we know to strictly adhere to the instructions being given by their nation’s doctors. This leadership equates with an act of Christian love! As we know – if we fail to learn from history, then history will sadly repeat itself.
The Spanish Flu pandemic arrived in several waves over a two-year period, so let’s specifically pray for insight and wisdom on the part of each nation’s leaders.
During this period of isolation, International Evangelism will be ministering digitally in both Spanish and English. Fortunately, in most of the cities where we serve, small groups can easily meet on-line. One-to-one training can also take place on-line with new believers. We would therefore appreciate your prayers for this exciting Great Commission planning.
Please send the names of any friend or family member who tests positive and we will forward that information for intercession to our fellow disciple-makers. Let’s continually focus on what the Lord graciously foretold, “… In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
For everyone’s encouragement, each morning, IEA will be emailing an inspiring quote from one of history’s most dedicated Christian leaders. The Bible provides us with both instruction and a timeless promise, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. …” (James 4:8) With this in mind, let’s take full advantage of these quiet days and become much better acquainted with our Lord!
In That Prayer,
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
