Praying for IEA’s Largest Ever Academic Ministry

As we pray together in preparation for IEA’s largest academic ministry in our history, the Lord has graciously and very clearly encouraged me during my sleep last night. Please join us in prayer:

  • For the additional seminaries and Christian colleges to receive their needed visas to enter Mexico and join us in Acapulco on July 29th-31st for their orientation and training in disciple-making.
  • Each denomination’s leading institutions will grasp the major difference between teaching and training so they will return to their countries with a deep passion for:
    • Equipping their faculty to lead their needed small groups of Becoming a Disciple-Maker trainees.
    • Enlisting Great Commission minded pastors and churches for each school’s Applied Ministry.

We currently have 16 evangelical institutions from five countries that are pre-registered with about 60 of their presidents, deans, and selected faculty members who will be with us. We are prepared to host approximately twice that number, so let’s keep earnestly praying that a sizeable number of additional schools will be able to participate!

As a major step of faith, each school is paying for the transportation of their own faculty members to Acapulco. In partnership, IEA is providing their hotel rooms, meals, materials, and training at a beautiful four-star Hyatt Regency group hotel.

As near as we can tell, these first 16 institutions have about 2,500 – 3,000 graduates annually. They will each lead small groups of 10 in Applied Ministry churches during the second semester. Therefore, as of now we can look forward to about 25,000 – 30,000 trainees in Spanish speaking local churches next year in: Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.

The Lord wonderfully taught us to pray in faith saying, “… I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24)

Because the Great Commission was the Lord’s huge final command, I believe we can all unite together in asking that every school of His choosing can be equipped for disciple-making, not only in Latin America, but worldwide as we faithfully follow His leadership. Thanks for standing with us in united prayer!
