God’s Eternal Fatherhood – The Disciple-Making Lifestyle

“no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
(John 14:6)

Part One

Without exception, our eternal God has always revealed Himself to us as – He! He created Adam in His image as a male and explained this to us in the earliest Scriptures. The Bible simply states, “… in the image of God He created him…” (Genesis 1:27)

Since, “no one has ever seen the Father except the One who is from God…” (John 6:46) it was Jesus Himself who taught us to pray, “…our Father who is in heaven…” (Matthew 6:9). It is therefore deeply disrespectful to address God in any other way. Expressed in terms of our humanity – as mere mortals with momentary lives, we will always be utterly unworthy to hold any position that differs with our Creator. We are simply the created clay and will therefore never be our own potter!

The Bible says, “…Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hands.” (Isaiah 64:8)

Part Two

Because God’s Son came to earth to be our Savior, if He had wanted us to believe that our Creator was actually a heavenly mother rather than God’s living Word (see John 1:1-5;14) – then obviously He could and would have told us. Instead, He revealed Himself to us as part of the eternal – Godhead – Three in One!

The Godhead in Scripture is – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. There was never any mention of God being female, nor was Mary ever referred to as the mother of God. These man-made ideas are totally foreign to God’s inspired Word.

Remember that Eve was created from Adam and not the other way around. The beautiful female nature and species was designed to be man’s helpmate and much-loved and needed physical companion. Their difference was God’s amazing plan for all animal life to continually repopulate the earth. For that reason, to our forefathers He said, “…be fruitful and multiply …” (Genesis 8:17) Jesus later explained that the church will be His spiritual bride in heaven. Marriage as it is now experienced, will not be a part of our future. That is an important reason why we need to currently enjoy that union here on earth!

Part Three

The Lord Jesus spoke about His Father during His brief earthly lifetime explaining “… My Father is greater than I.” (John 14:28) He also taught us about the omnipresent spiritual nature of the Godhead’s third person. Consider what He said, “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24) For review, not one time, in any context, did God the Son, who is the second person in the Godhead – ever refer to God as mother. Nor did He once refer to Mary as the mother of God! With this Biblical reality in mind, men are to love and deeply respect their mothers, wives, and daughters but this does not relate to our Creator’s revealed nature.

Beware of any theological fiction that has been developed by misguided men and women. We can only trust in what God actually says about Himself!
