Doors Are Opening in Africa!

We are thankful to God that the disciple-making work across Africa is growing. We are encouraged as the Lord opens doors and reminds us that this is His work, accomplished by His Spirit:

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6)

Meet Dr. Lukwikilu Mangayi

Brother “Luke” is a Professor in the Department of Christian Spirituality, Church History and Missiology, and a new partner of International Evangelism in the work of our Lord’s Great Commission.  Get to know him, his work, and pray for him as he labors together to bring New Testament Life-on-Life Disciple-Making to various people groups in Southern Africa.

South Africa

At Berea Baptist Mission Church in Johannesburg, vision casting was completed on January 4, and eight members were hand-picked as the first cohort to enroll in the structured disciple-making programme. This church has been prayerfully identified as a Model Church, with a 2026 theme of “Growing sustainably through New Testament Disciple-Making.”

Promotional materials have been shared with Baptist Theological College in Johannesburg and with Christ Seminary in Polokwane. Meetings are scheduled with leadership at both institutions to explore adopting the disciple-making syllabus within their training and spiritual formation programmes. An opportunity has also been extended to present the disciple-making vision to the Evangelical Alliance of South Africa at their February executive meeting.

A formal disciple-making workshop is scheduled for February 12–15 in Sibasa, Limpopo Province, where approximately 20 evangelist missionaries involved in rural church planting among the Venda people are expected to attend.

Kenya

On January 12, the disciple-making vision was shared with a Kenyan leader who has mobilized a group of 20 evangelist missionaries serving among the Iteso people. Plans are underway for a formal workshop in May.

Nigeria

A meeting is scheduled for January 29 with brothers from Berean Ministry in Nigeria to discuss the possible adoption of the disciple-making syllabus within their seminary contexts.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the leading of the Holy Spirit, wisdom and discernment, receptive hearts, open doors, and the mobilization of churches and seminaries toward the February 2027 conference.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer as the Lord continues to advance His work across Africa.
